For mankind, the stork nesting on the rooftops of houses is a symbol that nature is still intact. If the nests remain empty and the stork disappears from our fields, we will quickly become conscious of the destruction of its habitat. However, this habitat is the basis for the existence of other living things in the eco-system, like the endangered grassland birds, including the lapwing and the common snipe, as well as other species of animals and plants. And in the end, the stork's destroyed habitat is also that of people - that is, our habitat.
THE STORK FOUNDATION – Störche für unsere Kinder – wants to preserve this habitat for the storks, for us and for our children. On the following pages you can learn how this can be done.
